Touch Sensor LED
Smart Home · Board: ESP8266 · Day 35 of 100
Tap a capacitive touch pad to toggle an LED on the ESP8266 — no moving parts. Modern touch interfaces on a classic board.

How it works
Your finger changes the capacitance of the touch pad, which the sensor chip detects and reports as a touch event. The ESP8266 toggles the LED on each clean touch, with debouncing so a lingering finger counts once. A button with no moving parts to wear out.
What you'll learn
- Capacitive touch sensing
- Touch debouncing
- Solid-state inputs
- Modern UI on classic boards
