Build an invoice platform that flags anomalies
A non-developer used Replit and Claude to build an invoice platform that flags high-value invoices, sends payment reminders and catches duplicates; on 130 demo invoices it found four anomalies.
- What They Did
- Nikhil Thamma, a business analytics graduate, prompted his way through building Documind in Replit. Uploaded invoices go to Claude, which extracts the fields into a SQLite database. Background rules then flag high-value invoices, send due-date reminders and catch duplicates. He added a minimum of three invoices per vendor and low/medium/high confidence scores to cut false alerts.
- How It Went
- On 130 simulated coffee-shop invoices ($91,796 total), it caught four anomalies, including an $875 duplicate and a 60% bean price rise. False positives fell from 40% to about 15%.
- Worth Knowing
- It's a single-user MVP: extraction accuracy is about 95% on clean invoices but 60–70% on handwritten or poor scans, and there's no human-review step.
Try it yourself with Replit Agent
Build an invoice tracking app that loads invoices from [CSV or sample data], flags high-value invoices over [threshold], catches duplicates, and drafts payment reminders. Load about 100 demo invoices and show me what it flags. Do not send any reminders; show me each draft first and wait for my approval.
Do this with a skill.
These SkillShop playbooks do this exact job.
