Hand everyday errands to a local agent
A commenter lists tasks given to a trusted local agent: planning flights and hotels, converting music, finding DRM-free ebooks, designing 3D-printed holders, and tracking email appointments.
- What They Did
- The commenter runs a local agent they trust not to share conversations, and uses it like a search engine in place of a browser. They hand it errands: plan flights, a hotel and sights for a conference talk, convert downloaded FLAC music to OGG for a player, find DRM-free epubs for owned books, and make a tweakable OpenSCAD holder from a photo beside a tape measure.
- How It Went
- The comment only lists use cases. It reports no results, numbers, or failures, so there is no evidence here of how well any task worked.
- Worth Knowing
- The setup hinges on a local agent you trust to keep conversations private; the comment doesn't name the model or tools.

Help me with these errands: [list tasks, e.g. plan a trip from [city] to [city] on [dates] with flight and hotel options under [budget], find DRM-free ebook editions of [titles], convert my music files in [folder] to [format]]. For each one, give me a short summary of what you found or did, with links or file locations. Pause and show me the details before booking, buying, or deleting anything.
