Buy products online from a card photo
Musk said Grok Bot bought LEGO from the LEGO website, and that users can drop a credit card photo into chat so it finds the best deal and orders; plans and safeguards weren't specified.
- What They Did
- Per Musk's posts on X, a user photographs a credit card and drops the image into a chat with Grok Bot, the agent version of Grok. The agent then searches the internet for the best deal on the requested item and places the order. Musk said he ordered LEGO and Grok bought it from the LEGO website.
- How It Went
- The only result reported is Musk's own LEGO order, with no independent verification. The article says nothing on rollout, plans, countries, or whether shopping is live for everyone.
- Worth Knowing
- No safeguards were described: nothing on spending limits, a confirmation step before checkout, or how card details are stored after you share the photo.
