Author had ChatGPT Agent pick and book a Gatwick hotel on Booking.com; it reached the card confirmation screen, then needed the author to take over.
- What They Did
- The author pasted a long instruction block into ChatGPT Agent. It limited the agent to Booking.com, used Booking.com's own filter names, and set ranking and tie-break rules. The agent used his logged-in account and searched, ranked and picked a hotel. It stopped at the CVC confirmation screen with links to the runner-ups. He then took control.
- How It Went
- Three Gatwick runs each picked the hotel he would have chosen, taking 5-10 minutes each. Stansted worked too. Reykjavík failed until he dropped the air-conditioning filter. The agent made minor errors, such as a wrong star rating.
- Worth Knowing
- Agent mode ignores project instructions, so paste the prompt every time. UK banks likely block 3D Secure, so book through a saved Booking.com account.
