# NTP Digital Clock

Day 19 of the 100 Days 100 IoT Projects collection. Board: ESP8266.

The ESP8266 syncs time over the internet and shows it on a TM1637 display. No RTC module needed — Wi-Fi is the clock.

## How it works

On boot the ESP8266 asks an internet time server for the current time over NTP, then keeps counting locally from that reference. The TM1637 shows hours and minutes, refreshed each second. Wi-Fi replaces the RTC module entirely.

## What you'll learn

- NTP time synchronization
- UDP-based time protocol
- Timezone offsets
- RTC-free clock design
